Pee Wee Soccer: Saturdays, Sept. 11 to Oct. 23, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Green River Swimming and Recreation Area. Participants in kindergarten and first grade will learn basic soccer skills such as passing, dribbling and shooting through a hands-on instructional format. Scrimmages are also held weekly. $30 for residents, $40 for non-residents. Parent volunteer coaches are needed.
Travel Soccer: Saturdays, Sept. 11 through Oct. 23. The Junior Division is for boys and girls in grades two and three and the Senior Division is for grades four to six. Each division plays on a small field and introduces passing, dribbling and shooting skills. Games are held throughout the local area. One night a week practices and Saturday morning games, with a schedule to be announced. $45 for residents, $55 for non-residents. Parent volunteer coaches and referees are needed. Jamboree will be held Oct. 30 in Bernardston.
Greenfield Soapbox Race: Sunday, Sept. 12, at noon. Carts will be racing down Nash’s Mill Road. Proceeds will support the Skate Park Fund and the efforts of the Skate Greenfield Project. Currently taking registrations for racers online: greenfieldsoapboxraces.com.
GRASP at Four Corners and Federal Street Schools: Contact the Recreation Department for more information about after-school programs at the Discovery School at Four Corners and Federal Street School, and for registration materials. Hiring after-school staff ages 16 and up.
Movie in the Park: Raya and the Last Dragon: Friday, Sept. 25, at 7:15 p.m. at Beacon Field. Arrive early for a dance party. Attendees can pack a picnic or bring a blanket. Sponsored by Safe Schools Safe Streets and Franklin First Federal Credit Union.
REC the NIGHT: Participate in a lip-synch dance video to your favorite song on Friday, Sept. 25, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Youth Center, 20 Sanderson St. This is a free program for children in grades five to seven. Space is limited and a permission slip must be completed.
